Round 8 Review – Tuross River
Round 8 of the Squidgy Southern Bream Series was held at Tuross on the weekend. Freezing temperatures greeted us Sunday morning and the water temp wasn’t much warmer. A big thanks goes out to Tuross Lakeside Park for allowing us to run the comp from their beautiful shores.
19 kayakers and 45 boating teams made the trek to fish with teams coming from Canberra to Campbelltown to take part.
Stewart Dunn of Sailing Scene/Lox Rods did the damage for the kayakers with 2 fish weighing 1.785kg one of his fish was the Culburra Bait and Tackle/Hobiecat Australasia Big Bream weighing 1.365kg, securing Stew a few extra dollars on top of his winners cheque.
For the boater’s team Culburra Bait and Tackle 2’s Grant Kime and Scott Brown were the only team to bring back a full 5 fish bag. Their bag came in at 2.715kg giving the boys a well earned win on what was another tough round of breaming.
There is only one round left for the year which will be held on Sydney harbour, so if you want to stay above the “yellow line” or you’re after that paid entry to the Aus Open, check this site for details and start planning for round 9!
Walloper.
