Safety Comes First

The decision to disqualify or penalise entrants is not something that we take lightly.

But in the event of breaking of any waterway’s/fisheries/maritime rules automatic disqualification will apply.  No refund will be given after the competition has started.

  • If any entrant is seen to be breaking any rules by any member of the committee or is reported to the organisers by any authority they will not be in contention for any prizes nor will any points for the round be awarded.
  • Life jackets must be worn at all times whilst Boat is on the plane and all times for Kayaks.
  • It is recommended that lanyards be used, if the boat is fitted with one, while the engine is running.
  • The boat horse power is recommended to be a minimum of 20 horse power.  However power requirements may be more or less, as long as the boat is safe to fish with 2 anglers and a full live well.
  • Propulsion for kayaks is by under water kick or paddle power only, no electronic or combustion propulsion.
  • All waterways/maritime/fisheries laws and regulations must be obeyed. It is the responsibility of the boat / kayak operator to comply with current NSW Waterways rules and regulations.
  • All boats must be off the plane no less than 30 metres before passing under any bridge.  The boat must be 30 metres past any bridge before returning to the signed speed limit in that area.
  • In this event the maximum speed under any bridge is 4 knots, regardless of any higher posted speeds, with the exception of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Gladesville Bridges where the Waterways posted speed is to be observed.
  • The angler may use one hand held rod at a time, no trolling i.e. using the momentum of the boat to give the lure action
  • In the event a rod is snagged you cannot cast another rod until the first lure is retrieved or broken off.
  • No bait or burley.
  • All entrants must return to the weigh in location prior to the finish time of 2.00pm for boats and 2.05pm for kayaks
  • Failure to attend the briefing for any reason will result in a delayed start for that entrant/team.
  • Fishing or casting inside sanctuary zones is prohibited.
  • Fishing inside any event defined no fishing zones is prohibited.
  • If you are asked to move on from oyster leases or marina’s you must do so immediately.
  • The boundaries for these events will be set depending on the location. Fishing outside these boundaries will result in disqualification.
  • If bad weather falls on the event day the committee reserves the right to cancel the event or preferably reduce the arena if is safe to do so. The committee may reduce the fishing time to avoid placing anglers in danger. If cancellation is deemed necessary credit towards another round will be given to those whom have pre-paid.
  • 3 bream only per kayak entry to be weighed in.
  • 5 Bream only to be weighed in for Boating
  • All fish must be 250mm Fork length to be eligible for weighing.
  • In this competition we will use an ALVEY rule to measure fish.
  • All fish must be released after live weigh in.
  • The weigh master’s decision is final.  IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS PLEASE BRING TO THE ATTENTION OF THE COMMITTEE BEFORE THE WEIGH IN.
  • It is the responsibility of the angler to hold a current NSW recreational fishing licence

Failure to comply with the rules will result in disqualification.
